Hello! I am Alice Ivashina, a Master of Social Work (MSW) candidate at New York University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Hunter College. My academic training, combined with hands-on practicum experience at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Roads to Success non-profit organization, has equipped me with the skills to support individuals, families, and communities with a wide range of social and emotional needs.
I have worked with both children and adults facing chronic illnesses, mental and learning disabilities, and a variety of barriers to both healthcare and education. At both of my practicum placements, I have honed my skills in providing services such as psychosocial assessments, case management, group facilitation, and crisis intervention. I have worked closely with undocumented families and have developed a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and client-centered approaches.
Choosing to pursue social work was a decision that, for me, was ultimately based on my passion for both micro-level clinical work as well as larger-scale advocacy for underserved communities. As I approach graduation and licensing, I am seeking to continue my career in a New York City-based position where I can contribute meaningfully on both micro and macro levels, be part of an interdisciplinary team and work environment, and continue building my professional identity as a social worker dedicated to making a lasting, positive impact.
